Civil False Claims Issues
We help clients initiate investigations into a wide range of potential violations of the False Claims Act, including preparation and delivery of false records, receipts or statements, holding government property without authorization, purchasing government property from parties unauthorized to sell such property, and other potentially fraudulent activities designed to obtain undue payment or reimbursements from government entities.
We have particular experience helping businesses develop procedures for working with internal whistleblowers and other parties that may lodge allegations of wrongdoing. In addition to ensuring that appropriate action is taken to uncover potential abuses, we help clients ensure compliance with a range of whistleblower protection and anti-retaliation statutes.
