Patrick Craine is a partner in the firm's White Collar Defense, Internal Investigations, and Regulatory Enforcement practice and represents clients in the energy, banking, financial services, healthcare, real estate, and technology industries.
He has extensive experience counseling corporate entities, officers and directors, broker dealers, investment advisers, and funds involved in criminal, federal, and state securities investigations and litigation, including those related to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). He also has led intense and efficient domestic and international investigations for companies, broker-dealers, investment advisers, and funds.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Craine served as an enforcement attorney with the SEC and FINRA. In this capacity, he led investigations of complex financial reporting and accounting fraud matters involving some of the nation's largest public companies, financial institutions, broker-dealers, investment advisers, law firms, and accounting firms. Mr. Craine was also actively involved in the SEC’s and FINRA’s Oil and Gas Task Forces, where he prosecuted the largest oil and gas reserves restatement case in history, FINRA’s second-ever temporary cease and desist proceeding, and numerous other energy-related matters.
Mr. Craine also has experience handling Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), healthcare, antitrust, officer and director liability, and professional malpractice matters.
