Michael Raspino is a member of Bracewell's intellectual property section. His practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property and commercial litigation. Mr. Raspino has experience with a variety of litigation areas, including commercial litigation, IP litigation (including patent, trademark, and trade secret matters) and has particular experience with advanced computer-implemented technology, including computer software programs, database architectures, web-based architectures, and wireless networks and devices. He also represents and counsels clients in patent prosecution and technology transfer in the advanced-technology sector with particular emphasis on computer implemented systems and other computer processes. In addition, he represents and counsels clients in copyright matters, particularly in the fields of entertainment, software, and digital media.
Prior to joining Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, Mr. Raspino was an attorney with a trial firm in Silicon Valley, California. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Raspino worked as an information technology risk consultant for Ernst & Young in San Francisco, California.
Representative Matters
Key Energy Services, Inc. v. CC Forbes, responsible in part for discovery and drafting motions for the plaintiff in a case involving infringement in Mexico on two of Key's patents related to monitoring systems on workover rigs; represented the plaintiff in a patent infringement matter related to oilfield services technologies and well-servicing technology. After three days of jury trial, the parties reached a very favorable settlement for Key.
In the Matter of Certain Integrated Circuits, Chipsets, and Products Containing Same including Televisions, Media Players, and Cameras, Inv. No. 337-TA-709. Represented semiconductor company in pursuing a Section 337 investigation for patent infringement against various consumer electronics manufacturers. Responsible in part for discovery and drafting motions.
