Coy Connelly represents clients in litigation primarily involving environmental and toxic torts, Natural Resource Damages, environmental statutory enforcement and products liability.

In the areas of environmental law and toxic torts, Mr. Connelly has experience with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) actions, property (soil and groundwater) contamination cases and Natural Resource Damage claims. He also has experience defending environmental statute enforcement actions related to the operation of underground storage tanks and the release of materials into the environment. He represents landowners, facility operators, product manufacturers and waste generators, as both plaintiffs and defendants. He handles environmental insurance coverage claims and represents companies in toxic exposure lawsuits arising out of accidental releases, catastrophic events and industrial work environments.

Mr. Connelly has experience defending environmental consulting firms and law firms  in malpractice cases alleging negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, misrepresentation and conflict of interest. He has served as lead counsel in products liability cases for vehicle component manufacturers, international commercial building materials manufacturers, and lawn care equipment producers. He  also defends major drug manufacturers and distributors, including pharmacies, in pharmaceutical product liability cases. In the commercial area, he has represented corporations and individuals in Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act (DTPA) litigation, trademark infringement actions, breach of contract cases and construction disputes.

Representative Matters

Representing Valero Energy Corporation and TOTAL PETROCHEMICALS USA Inc. in a nationwide docket of groundwater contamination and product defect cases. Acting as national counsel for this litigation currently consolidated in MDL 1358 in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.
