Linda Rovira maintains a general civil litigation practice in the Houston office. Ms. Rovira's practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation and business torts. She has represented clients in cases involving insurance disputes, breach of contract, and director and officer liability issues.
Representative Matters
Horizon Shipbuilding, Inc. v. BLyn, LLC. Represented a Texas bank as lead attorney in a bench trial involving maritime liens, a first preferred ship mortgage, and various state law fraud and negligent misrepresentation claims.
Oilfieldtools.net v. International Tubular Services, Inc. Represented the defendant oil services company as lead attorney in a breach of contract and fraud case involving drill pipe; achieved dismissal of all claims on summary judgment.
Petróleos Mexicanos v. Kuehne & Nagel, Inc. Represented a Mexican energy company as lead associate in an arbitration with an international freight forwarder involving damage to a loading arm; achieved a favorable settlement on the first day of arbitration.
In re Superior Offshore International, Inc. Securities Litigation. Represented the defendant subsea construction and commercial diving company as lead associate in a securities fraud class action; defeated class certification and achieved a favorable settlement after discovery.
Superior Offshore International, Inc. v. Louis Schafer, et al. Represented the former officers and directors of a bankrupt subsea construction and commercial diving company as lead associate in a breach of fiduciary duty case; prevailed on a motion to dismiss the majority of plaintiff’s claims.
Tide Natural Gas Storage, L.P. v. Falcon Gas Storage, Inc. Represented the plaintiff private investment firm as lead associate in a securities and common law fraud case arising from the firm’s purchase of two natural gas storage facilities for over $500 million dollars; defeated a motion to dismiss.
Key Energy, Inc. v. Rimrod Corporation. Represented the plaintiff oil services company as lead associate in a breach of contract and suit on account case.
Stansell v. BGP, Inc. Represented the defendant Chinese energy company and its U.S. subsidiaries in a case involving civil claims under the Anti-Terrorism Act; prevailed on a motion to dismiss all claims.
Represented the State of Texas in ten trials in municipal court in connection with a firm litigation training program.
