Judge Joe Cox has experience in jury trial, bench trial and appellate matters, representing clients in complex financial and commercial disputes, class actions, product liability, personal injury litigation, real estate litigation, fraud, and issues stemming from creditors’ rights. Judge Cox is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Judge Cox has represented clients in issues spanning a variety of industries, including Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) violations; lender liability; real estate issues such as restrictive covenants; theft of trade secrets; notes and guarantees; stock options and ownership; labor and employment issues; environmental concerns; family law; mechanics and materialmen’s licenses; sequestration and repossession of collateral and destruction of collateral; unfair debt collection practices; wrongful eviction; medical malpractice and wrongful death; and breach of contract, breach of noncompete agreements and breach of leases.

Judge Cox served as a judge in the 160th Judicial District Court of the State of Texas from August 2002 through January 2006, presiding over 84 jury trials, 30 bench trials and thousands of hearings.
