Jim Bradley practices patent, trademark, copyright and general intellectual property law, with an emphasis in the area of mechanical devices.
He has experience in all phases of intellectual property law for clients from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. These areas include litigation matters as well as prosecution of patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices. Mr. Bradley has personally prepared and successfully prosecuted hundreds of patent applications. His emphasis is on mechanical inventions, and his experience is in a variety of fields, including medical devices, manufacturing processes, aerospace and oilfield equipment. He is involved frequently in infringement and validity analysis of patents, both for patent holders as well as those seeking to avoid infringement. Mr. Bradley also has considerable experience in trademark registration, trademark oppositions and cancellations, and infringement matters.
Mr. Bradley has been practicing intellectual property law in private practice for more than 30 years. He was a co-founder in 1979 of Felsman, Bradley, Vaden, Gunter & Dillon, LLP, a firm that specialized in intellectual property law. He practiced in the Fort Worth office of the Felsman firm until 1996, when he opened an office for the Felsman firm in Houston. In January 2001, the Felsman firm was acquired by Bracewell & Giuliani LLP.
Representative Matters
Represent several oil and gas equipment manufacturers in patent prosecution, infringement and validity advice, including Baker Hughes, Inc., Vetco Gray Inc., Tesco Corporation and Weir/SPM, and the tactical fighter division of Lockheed Martin Corporation.
