Jessica Adkins's practice focuses on energy related commercial transactions. These transactions have included structured and commercial finance and secured credit arrangements, purchase and sale of commodities, physical and financial commodity hedging instruments and facilities, and acquisition and divestiture transactions. Her clients include energy companies, financial institutions, and private investors.
Prior to practicing law, Ms. Adkins was a process engineer for a multinational engineering and construction company in London and she conducted scientific research in Spain in conjunction with a U.S. Fulbright grant.

A financial institution in the purchase of a large financial power and gas trading book
An energy company in the start-up of an electric vehicles services business
A large financial institution in transfering market risks associated with long-term power purchase agreements and associated OTC and exchange traded hedges relating to two wind farms (135 and 60 MWs) and a natural gas-fired power plant (350 MW)
A private infrastructure development fund in a $1 billion joint venture with a midstream natural gas service provider to expand a natural gas pipeline in the Haynesville Shale area
A large power marketer in the development of a bankruptcy remote financing vehicle to supply all-requirements electricity to a multi-level marketing retail electricity provider in ERCOT
A large gas marketer in providing an all-requirements natural gas supply and sleeving facility to a retail gas provider in Atlanta, Georgia, secured by all of the assets of the retail provider
A wind developer in the negotiation of offtake agreements for multiple wind farms located in New York and Pennsylvania
Multiple financial institutions and energy companies in developing and negotiating both financial and physical commodity trading contracts (including ISDAs, EEIs, and NAESBs)
Multiple energy companies and financial institutions in the negotiation of collateral trust arrangements as security for both lenders and hedge providers and related intercreditor documents
An agent bank in collateral and security arrangements for a syndicated credit facility for an international oil and gas services company secured by assets located in the United States, Latin America and Europe
A power generator in modifying the credit support structure of three power plants financed with an $800 million leveraged lease facility
An energy company in divesting its interest in a jointly owned 600 MW Inter-American Development Bank and Ex-Im Bank financed power plant located in Mexico
A retail energy company in the development of cross-border electricity sales contracts for the sale of electricity from California to Mexico, including analysis of Mexican import regime and backup power tariffs
A large power marketer in negotiating a 350 MW power purchase agreement for purchase of capacity, energy and ancillary services from a power plant in ERCOT
A local gas pipeline company in negotiating oilfield service contracts and various other service contracts
