Jennifer M. Weston is Bracewell & Giuliani LLP's general counsel for professional development. In a position unique among law firms, Ms. Weston is a partner with full-time responsibility for the professional development initiatives and activities of her fellow attorneys. She provides leadership and individual guidance in managing human resources services for the firm's attorneys; coordinating and implementing attorney training, assimilation and mentoring programs; hiring and retention of attorneys; and overseeing the firm's programs for minorities and women.
Prior to becoming general counsel for professional development, Ms. Weston was a partner in the public law section of the firm. After joining Bracewell in 1987, she tried numerous special education due process hearings, including cases involving residential placement. Ms. Weston assisted school districts with the development of policies regarding discrimination and in federal court lawsuits involving claims of constitutional rights based upon sexual harassment.
