Gregory Nye is a Trial Partner, practicing in U.S. state and federal courts for more than 30 years. Mr. Nye focuses on complex litigation for corporate clients in Connecticut and throughout the country. Recent cases include the trial of an $800 million corporate fraud claim and a $200 million financial investment lawsuit.
Mr. Nye's experience includes cases in various industries, including computer technology, energy, insurance, public utilities, telecommunications, timber, building supplies, cable television, accounting, and office real estate. He provides creative, aggressive litigation services, including trial, arbitration and mediation. Mr. Nye also regularly handles appeals, including the recent defense of trial victories in the Second, Fifth and Eleventh U.S. Courts of Appeal.
Representative Matters
Mr. Nye has represented clients in a wide variety of legal disputes. Those cases include:
Successful defense of 10 investment companies accused of various forms of business fraud stemming from their $200 million investment in a large restaurant chain.
Ongoing defense against the largest alleged fraudulent conveyance action in U.S. bankruptcy history.
Removal of executives from control of their radio and TV company on behalf of a bank investor in the company.
Successful prosecution (as a specially-designated prosecutor for the U.S. Episcopal Church) and trial of the Bishop for the Wyoming Diocese, the first such trial of a Bishop in more than 100 years.
Successful defense, resulting in a settlement with no monetary or other obligations, for 52 companies sued by Asbestos Creditors.
Successful prosecution and defense of malpractice, business fraud, contract, tort and securities claims against numerous parties in cases throughout the country.
Investigations of various complex civil claims (either as plaintiff or defendant), development of litigation strategy, and reports to numerous corporate clients.
