George Fatula is a member of the firm's energy practice. He focuses on energy-related transactions, regulatory matters, projects and controversies.

Mr. Fatula advises clients on a variety of transactional matters involving natural gas, NGLs, and oil. He represents clients that include transportation and storage providers, project developers, producers, marketers, and midstream service providers. In addition, Mr. Fatula represents both pipelines and shippers in FERC regulatory matters, including on-going compliance, tariff and certificate proceedings and contested matters.

Mr. Fatula counsels energy industry clients on the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act as it relates to derivatives regulation. He is actively involved in advising these clients on compliance with Dodd-Frank regulations and has drafted extensive comments and consulted with federal regulators regarding Dodd-Frank rules impacting energy commodity and derivatives transactions. Mr. Fatula also has experience representing project sponsors and lenders in financing transactions involving domestic and international power projects, gas transportation and storage projects, and wind and other renewable energy projects.

Represented midstream company in $1 billion transaction involving sale of gas utility involving exchange of pipeline and storage assets and long term associated service agreements.

Represented independent power project developer in negotiating and drafting gas pipeline development and transportation agreements with municipality in connection with development of gas-fired power project.

Represents numerous energy industry clients (oil/gas producers, transportation providers, midstream service providers, utilities and commodity traders) in connection with implementation of and compliance with Dodd-Frank Act regulations.

Represented major exploration and production company in negotiating and drafting bilateral agreements with bank counterparties to govern Dodd-Frank compliance for future derivatives transactions.

Provided regulatory compliance training for oil and gas trading clients with respect to FERC and CFTC regulation.

Represented natural gas pipeline company in connection with shipper contracts for gathering pipeline project in the Marcellus shale region.

Represented midstream company in drafting tariff and service agreements for planned condensate pipeline.

Represented natural gas producer in negotiating and drafting agreements to secure acreage dedication, gathering and processing for shale gas production.

Represented affiliate of major U.S. bank in negotiating and drafting crude oil supply agreement for a refinery in connection with nearly $1 billion acquisition of refinery and related pipeline assets and inventories.

Represented natural gas marketer in applying for and securing Department of Energy approval to export liquid natural gas (LNG).

Represented ethane shipper in contract dispute with NGL pipeline company.

Represented midstream natural gas company in connection with regulatory issues involved in expanding and changing ownership of gas gathering system.

Represented interstate natural gas pipeline in drafting and securing approval of revised FERC Gas Tariff.
