Warren Harris Elected To Leadership Positions In Texas Law

HOUSTON (May 8, 2008) — Warren W. Harris, a partner and head of the appellate practice at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, has recently been elected to two key leadership positions within the Texas legal community. The Houston Bar Association announced that Mr. Harris has been elected to serve a two-year term (2008-2010) on the HBA Board of Directors. With nearly 12,000 members, the HBA is the fifth-largest metropolitan bar association in the nation.

Mr. Harris was also elected to a one-year term as Secretary-Treasurer of the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation, which provides funding to enhance the rule of law and the system of justice in Texas, including programs that relate to legal ethics, legal assistance for the needy, the encouragement of legal research and the education of the public.

Mr. Harris is a highly experienced appellate attorney, having handled hundreds of appeals and original proceedings in the Texas Supreme Court, United States Supreme Court, and state and federal courts of appeals. He is also a frequent presenter at legal seminars and conferences, a former adjunct professor in appellate advocacy at The University of Texas School of Law and The University of Houston Law Center, and has authored numerous articles on legal topics for publications such as the Texas Bar Journal, Defense Counsel Journal and Texas Lawyer.
