Marcy Kurtz to receive prestigious award from Texas Executive Women
HOUSTON (Oct. 12, 2006) – Marcy Kurtz, a bankruptcy partner in Bracewell & Giuliani’s Houston office, has been named one of 10 Women on the Move by Texas Executive Women and the Houston Chronicle.
Kurtz will be honored at a Nov. 17 luncheon at the Intercontinental Hotel for her exemplary professional activities and community service, including her work in coordinating pro bono activities at Bracewell & Giuliani.
In addition to serving as Bracewell & Giuliani’s pro bono coordinator, Kurtz has personally assisted with many pro bono cases, including several dealing with civil rights violations. Kurtz’s bankruptcy practice focuses on debtor representation and creditors' rights issues, as well as advising corporate clients regarding bankruptcy implications of various corporate merger and acquisition transactions. She also handles complex commercial litigation and fraud cases in state and federal courts.
In receiving the honor, Kurtz joins fellow Women on the Move past honorees Ileana Blanco and Carrin Patman, both partners at Bracewell & Giuliani.
Texas Executive Women supports the professional advancement of women in the community. Founded in 1985, the annual Women on the Move awards recognize outstanding female leaders in the Houston area, and the program has honored 210 women in a variety of professions since its inception.
