Firm Handles First 2009 M&A Deal In Texas

HOUSTON — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced its participation in the first merger transaction involving a Texas financial institution in 2009. In the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deal, between Austin Bancshares, Inc. and La Grange Bancshares, Inc., Bracewell served as legal adviser to Austin Bancshares. Justin M. Long and William T. Luedke IV acted as lead attorneys.
Austin Bancshares and La Grange Bancshares, a bank holding company, signed an agreement that provides for Austin Bancshares to acquire La Grange and its wholly owned banking subsidiary, Colorado Valley Bank, SSB, a Texas state savings bank. Colorado Valley Bancshares is a community financial institution with approximately $30 million in assets and locations in La Grange and Weimer, Texas.
