Todd Mattingly Joins Intellectual Property Group

HOUSTON (December 28, 2007) — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that Todd Mattingly has joined the firm as a partner in its Houston office, where he will work in the Intellectual Property Practice Group.Mr. Mattingly’s primary practice focuses on intellectual property transactional matters and related intellectual property litigation. He has experience in e-commerce, information technology, trademark and patents in a global environment. His areas of particular technological expertise include oilfield technology, medical devices, lighting devices, electrical power distribution devices, injection molding, analog and digital signal processing, and computer processors.
Mr. Mattingly is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law School. While in law school, he worked as a Patent Examiner in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Before joining Bracewell, Mr. Mattingly was a partner at King & Spalding LLP.
Also joining Bracewell & Giuliani’s IP Practice as counsel in the Houston office is Michael R. Samardzija, Ph.D. Dr. Samardzija previously worked as director of intellectual property at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he established an intellectual property department. Dr. Samardzija is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law.
