Firm Adds Prominent Global M&A and Private Investment Fund Group in New York

NEW YORK, NY (April 25, 2006) – Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that Mark Palmer, Jonathan Gill and Robb Tretter will join Bracewell as partners in the firm's New York office, effective May 1, 2006. Palmer, Gill and Tretter will represent private investment firms, financial institutions and corporations on mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance issues, private/public takeovers, joint ventures, investments and reorganizations in the United States and abroad. Before joining Bracewell, all three were with the New York office of Linklaters.

Palmer started his legal career in the mergers & acquisitions group at Sullivan & Cromwell. Palmer, who will lead Bracewell's New York Corporate practice, previously led the Linklaters’ corporate/M&A practice in New York, where he represented clients on domestic and cross-border mergers & acquisitions, and on matters involving restructurings, corporate governance, financings and tender/exchange offers. Additionally, his group advised private funds on investments and acquisitions involving distressed and insolvent companies.

Palmer earned his law degree from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida.
Gill began his U.S. legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell, before joining Linklaters as an associate. Gill's practice focuses on financial restructuring matters, with particular expertise in issues involving investment funds. He earned his LL.B. with honors from Adelaide University in Australia and his LL.M. from Columbia Law School where he was a James Kent Scholar.
Tretter started his legal career at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, before joining Linklaters as an associate. He has expertise counseling domestic and foreign entities in connection with public and private mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, tender/exchange offers and anti-takeover preparedness. He earned his law degree with honors from the New York University School of Law and his undergraduate degree with distinction from Cornell University.
