April 30, 2007

HOUSTON (April 30, 2007) — Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that attorney William E. King has joined the firm in its public law practice where he will assist both government entities and private companies in their dealings with public bodies.

Prior to joining Bracewell, Mr. King enjoyed a varied business career, recently retiring as a managing partner of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, a national law firm representing a wide range of government entities in receivables management.

"Bill’s notable service in the Texas community, together with his unique understanding of corporate client needs when dealing with government, make for a natural fit with Bracewell's public law practice," said Patrick Oxford, managing partner of Bracewell & Giuliani. "Bill will strengthen Bracewell's reputation as a leader in the area where public and private legal needs intersect."

During his years in public service, Mr. King has developed a keen interest in public policy issues. He has served on numerous committees and task forces studying issues related to the efficient delivery of public services, especially in the areas of public infrastructure, mobility, environmental stewardship, education and emergency preparedness.

A life-long resident of the Houston area, Mr. King has decades of extensive civic and public sector experience, which includes service as both a councilman and Mayor for the City of Kemah, membership on the Board of Regents of Texas Southern University, participation in Governor Rick Perry’s Task Force on Evacuation, chairmanship of the Houston Fire Fighters’ Foundation, several committees of the Greater Houston Partnership, HGAC’s Transportation Policy Council and as director of Interfaith Ministries.  Additionally, he was recently appointed as chair of the Harris County Hospital Facilities Corporation board.
