Bracewell & Giuliani

Bracewell regularly works with administrators and teachers to ensure compliance with the regulatory standards and accessibility requirements regarding the education of mentally and physically disabled children.  Our attorneys are well versed in the specifics of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Federal Rehabilitation Act as they apply to educational institutions and their students.  We frequently represent school districts in their dealings with parents and advocates of disabled children.

When disputes arise, we make every effort to mediate disagreements and negotiate solutions that ensure the appropriate delivery of instructional and other services to students with special needs.  In some cases, alternative-dispute resolution options are unable to resolve the matter at hand; in such cases, our experienced litigators provide an effective defense to school districts while helping administrators keep an eye on the ultimate goal — serving the child.
