Allison K. Perry counsels clients in matters involving employee benefits, including health and welfare plans and retirement plans. Ms. Perry provides advice to clients regarding a variety of corporate and tax issues that are incident to employee benefit plan sponsorship, including disclosure and filing requirements, distributions, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, and fiduciary duties in plan administration, reorganization and termination.
Ms. Perry regularly designs, drafts and implements employee benefit plans. She also analyzes the employee benefit issues involved in corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and mergers, and works to maximize the income-tax benefits of the transaction.
Ms. Perry also advises employers regarding compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Consolidated Omnibus Reconciliation Act (COBRA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Ms. Perry reviews plan documents, prepares plan amendments to conform to current tax laws, and represents clients with respect to their plans before the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.
