Mark A. Jones has been a commercial and real estate lawyer in San Antonio for nearly 20 years. He has substantial experience in leasing for retail, office, industrial and entertainment venues, and commercial ground leases. Representing development and landlord joint ventures, Mr. Jones handles multi-floor office leases, retail tenant leases in shopping centers, and lease negotiations for city-owned theater complexes. He currently represents a large non-profit organization in its master leasing with the city for theater, office building, retail space, a residential apartment building and parking lots.
Mr. Jones’s practice in general real estate matters includes the sale, purchase and operation of income-producing properties, financing, tax-free exchanges, easements, commercial property transactions with governmental agencies, condemnation and the preservation of historic structures. Additionally, he assists clients in the analysis, negotiation and documentation of commercial real estate and asset-based lending transactions, residential and commercial construction financing, including hotel construction financing, and personal property securitization in lending institutions.
Mr. Jones represents a national wireless communications company in connection with its real estate acquisitions and leasing of wireless communications sites for the construction, operation and maintenance of its wireless communication systems. Mr. Jones' work for this client includes management of and participation in a large working group that addresses all aspects of real estate due diligence, including title matters, environmental matters, zoning matters and lease and contract negotiations on a high-volume basis.
Mr. Jones also counsels clients in the formation of business entities, such as limited partnerships, limited liability companies, general partnerships, registered limited liability partnerships and corporations, and the preparation of owner documentation.

Represents a leading national wireless telecommunications company in the acquisition, leasing, development and operation of its wireless system in the State of Texas.
Represented a national real estate development company in its $40 million acquisition of a multi-office building complex in San Antonio, Texas.
Represented local real estate investor in acquisition of multiple income-producing commercial real estate projects.
Represented non-profit corporation in redevelopment plan for historic downtown theater, office building and retail center.
