Ronald Scott focuses his practice on the trial of complex multi-party lawsuits, class actions and arbitrations. He has tried more than 75 cases to verdict, including cases arising from property damage insurance claims and insurance fraud, contracts, toxic substances torts, products liability claims (particularly in the power-equipment industry), construction, antitrust and competition issues and employment and defamation claims. He has handled numerous appeals in both state and federal courts. Mr. Scott particularly is experienced in the representation of government entities, including more than 200 cities, counties, states, school districts and quasi-governmental organizations.

Some of Mr. Scott's recent cases and transactions involved representing municipal and governmental entities in lawsuits relating to childhood exposure to lead paint. He also has handled various successful consolidated actions to recover the costs of asbestos abatement, represented school districts in the bankruptcy of a major asbestos-containing building material manufacturer, and represented Colorado school districts in the successful recovery of asbestos abatement costs.
