James C. Pittman represents financial institutions and companies in complex financings and real estate transactions involving energy facilities, manufacturing properties, and office and residential developments. He has extensive experience in syndicated and non-syndicated loan transactions, both secured and unsecured, as well as asset purchase arrangements, loan workouts and foreclosure proceedings.
Mr. Pittman’s real estate practice focuses on the acquisition and disposition of improved properties for real estate investors, as well as negotiating shopping center, office building, industrial and ground leases.
Representative Matters
Represented Merrill Lynch International and Credit Suisse London Branch, as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners, in a euro 1.85 billion financing for the acquisition from Shell of Basell USA by an affiliate of Access Industries.
Represented ORIX Leveraged Finance Corp. as agent, in a $21.6 million secured revolving credit and term loan financing to a textile company owned by a financial buyer.
Represented agent bank in a $150,000,000 syndicated loan to a real estate investment trust secured by multiple properties.
Represented a major insurance company in multiple permanent real estate loans.
Represented large financial institution in negotiating more than 30 new retail branch leases.
Represented major energy company in negotiating numerous office leases.
Represented large financial institution in connection with loan workouts.
Represented commercial bank in connection with an advancing term loan secured by domain name.
Represented numerous large financial institutions in foreclosure proceedings covering residential subdivisions and multifamily properties.
