Stephen B. Crain is a trial lawyer in the firm's Houston office. He has first chair jury and non-jury trial experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal district courts. He has also represented numerous clients in obtaining injunctive relief from state and federal courts. He has handled appeals in state appellate courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Crain also has extensive arbitration experience both as counsel and as an arbitrator.

Mr. Crain has represented clients in diverse matters. He has prosecuted and defended cases involving energy-related disputes (including representing power producers, power traders and suppliers to the energy industry), construction law, patents and intellectual property, business torts, securities and class actions.

Mr. Crain has been appointed as an arbitrator in several arbitrations and recently served as an arbitrator in an American Arbitration Association arbitration involving an international contract dispute.

In addition to the traditional representation of parties in complex litigation, Mr. Crain is a leader of the firm's practice group that represents corporate and other claimants in commercial and complex tort cases on a contingent fee basis.

Mr. Crain has tried cases throughout Texas. Additionally, he has served as lead counsel in cases and disputes or tried cases and arbitrations in New York, California, Florida, Utah, Oklahoma, Ohio, Louisiana, Illinois, Washington, Arizona, Delaware, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Maine.  Internationally, he has handled matters in London and Paris.

Mr. Crain is the past chairman of the 1,500-member litigation section of the Houston Bar Association.
