Philip J. Bezanson’s litigation practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations and general commercial litigation.

In his white collar defense practice, Mr. Bezanson is a member of the Bracewell & Giuliani LLP team that advises individuals, corporations and organizations under investigation and/or indictment for accounting fraud, securities fraud, misappropriation of funds and obstruction of justice. He counsels clients through each step in the defense process, from preparing them to meet with the U.S. Attorney’s office or regulatory agencies, to making decisions on negotiation, settlement or trial.

Acting primarily on behalf of special board of director committees, Mr. Bezanson is a member of the team that has conducted corporate investigations of potential or alleged misconduct. These investigations are undertaken in response to both external charges and internal oversight concerns, and primarily involve allegations of fraud or accounting-related misconduct.

Mr. Bezanson is engaged in wide-ranging commercial litigation, encompassing international disputes, arbitration and mediation, and federal appellate matters. He has represented corporations and corporate clients in contract disputes, product liability controversies, discrimination allegations, maritime disputes and matters relating to bankruptcy litigation.
