The wind energy industry's booming growth and bright future have raised new challenges and opportunities for developers and investors.  This teleconference will overview these "next generation" issues for current wind energy projects, including potential wind opportunities in the new Congress, novel financing strategies and techniques, and new issues facing project developers working on larger projects at more challenging sites.

Key Topics to be Discussed:

  • How the new Congress will view key legislative issues, such as extension of the production tax credit and assuring adequate transmission capacity;
  • New financing structures for wind projects, including updates on current market conditions for debt financing, financing of merchant wind plants, developments in the back leverage market, and new issues facing project developers working on larger projects at more challenging sites; and
  • How developers are overcoming new challenges to siting, regulatory requirements, and NIMBY issues.
