Greg Benson has been a managing director at Huntsman Gay Global Capital since inception. Prior to H&G, Mr. Benson's was most recently an executive vice president and a senior member of the London-based Bain Capital team responsible for starting up Bain’s European private equity business. Mr. Benson joined Bain Capital in 1996. While at Bain Capital, he was a financial and supervisory principal with the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Benson’s current and past board representation has included Medical Edge healthcare Group, ICON Health and Fitness, Nutraceutical International Corp, American Nutritional Casualty Insurance, Inc., American Pad and Paper Co., and Walco.
Mr. Benson began his business career with General Electric where he served for 16 years in senior management positions with a wide variety of responsibilities, including those involving business startups and finance. He concluded his service with GE as president and CEO of Merchant Banking for GE Financial Services where he was responsible for structuring 14 transactions involving more than $5 billion in total value. While at GE, Mr. Benson was a registered representative and supervisory principal with the National Association of Securities Dealers (now FINRA). Mr. Benson received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Ryan Stratton most recently was a senior associate with Sorenson Capital. At Sorenson Capital, Mr. Stratton’s responsibilities spanned the transaction lifecycle including sourcing, evaluation, managing the due diligence process, and board oversight post close.
Prior to joining Sorenson Capital, Mr. Stratton was a case team leader, consultant, and associate consultant with Bain & Company in Dallas, TX, and Johannesburg, South Africa. Select strategic consulting industry experience includes: airlines, automotive, computers, food preparation, oil and gas, retail, telecom, IT, and media and entertainment. Projects spanned a wide range of capabilities including corporate strategy, operational improvement, transaction due diligence, merger integration, corporate turnaround, and complexity management.
Mr. Stratton was also an analyst and associate with Bain Capital in the Boston office. While with the firm, he analyzed prospective acquisitions and investments in the apparel, consumer goods, manufacturing, oil and gas, technology, telecommunications, and consumer retail industries. Mr. Stratton received his MBA from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management and his B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University.
