We are pleased to announce Charles King of Prudential Capital Partners as the speaker of our February Private Equity Breakfast meeting in Houston.
Prudential Capital Partners, L.P., and Prudential Capital Partners II, L.P., are $619 million and $775 million middle-market mezzanine funds, respectively, with the capability to invest preferred and common equity where such co-investment is warranted. Both funds are sponsored by Prudential Capital Group, the largest manager of private corporate, fixed-income securities in the United States, with more than $39 billion of senior and mezzanine debt investments in nearly 1,000 companies managed among a global regional network of offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Frankfurt, London, Newark, New York and San Francisco. Prudential Capital Partners currently manages two investment funds totaling approximately $1.4 billion for a diverse group of institutional investors that invest mezzanine capital and equity alongside management teams and private equity sponsors and other investors in management buyouts, recapitalizations, leveraged acquisitions and internal expansion. Prudential Capital Partners invests in a wide range of middle market companies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Charles King, based in New York, serves as a managing director for Prudential Capital Group and a managing director and principal of Prudential Capital Partners, L.P. and Prudential Capital Partners II, L.P. Mr. King also serves on the Investment Committee of Prudential Capital Partners, L.P. I and II. Formerly, Mr. King served as the head of Prudential Capital Group’s New York Corporate Finance office from late 1993 to mid 2004 and as a member of Prudential Capital Group’s senior management team. Prior to joining Prudential Capital Group in 1990, Mr. King served as a senior vice president and division head, Georgia Corporate Banking for First Union National Bank based in Atlanta and prior to that held various leadership positions with Mellon Bank, including vice president and head of the Chicago office, Corporate Banking Department. Mr. King received his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and currently serves as a board member and/or board observer for several Prudential Capital Partners’ portfolio companies.
