This session explores the legal and human issues involving conflict resolution including the new resolution session, mediation, settlement issues, minimizing the adversarial nature of ARD meetings and effective strategies for avoiding hearings when possible.

David Hodgins will lead the breakout session "Special Education Discipline under IDEA 2004 and Final Regulations."

Presentation Description
This session provides a legal overview of special education procedures related to student discipline. This session covers the 10 day rule, what counts as a day, MDR process along with practical illustrations.
