In 1945, Bracewell & Giuliani opened its first office in Houston, Texas. As the firm has grown across the United States and abroad, our headquarters have remained in this vibrant, commercial center of the Southwest. We have particular strength in the energy, financial-services and telecommunications sectors of the economy.
The Summer Associate Experience
Each year, 40 to 50 Summer Associates are welcomed to the firm’s Houston office for the 9-week summer program. Students work in two practice areas over the course of the summer, and attend hearings, depositions, trials, negotiations and client meetings. While observation is an important part of the program, Summer Associates do real work, side-by-side with firm partners and associates.
Summer Associate Life
The practice of law and hard work go hand-in-hand. However, we also encourage Summer Associates to explore the social and cultural life of the firm and the cities in which we do business. The Houston office sponsors in-home dinners with attorneys, all-clerk lunches and a Summer Associate retreat, in addition to organizing activities such as go-cart racing, cooking classes and wine-tasting events.
