Bracewell & Giuliani

In 2005, Bracewell & Giuliani opened a new chapter in its 60-year history by welcoming former New York City mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani as a senior partner. Our New York City-based attorneys provide fully integrated legal services in the areas of corporate law, finance, financial restructuring, real estate, litigation and dispute resolution, particularly white-collar criminal defense and special investigations. We have developed strong practices representing energy industry, financial institution and private investment fund clients. We also work closely with attorneys from throughout the firm’s offices and practice groups to provide broad-spectrum, coordinated counsel.

The Summer Associate Experience

Summer Associates are welcomed to the firm’s New York office for the 11-week summer program. Students are assigned to a partner in the practice area that is of most interest to them; however, we also encourage them to participate in a wide variety of current projects in other practice areas. At Bracewell, there is no such thing as “busy work.” Our Summer Associates work on real client matters and are expected to perform. At the same time, our attorneys understand that the Summer Associates are in a critical period of their training, and provide the support and guidance they require to succeed.

Summer Associate Life

The New York office has an open-door policy and a strong tradition of collegiality. Law students and senior partners work side-by-side on a first-name basis. We value entrepreneurship and teamwork, and seek Summer Associates who will thrive in such an environment. Client projects are staffed leanly in order to be competitive and efficient. This practice enables us to provide Summer Associates with early, direct exposure to our clients and the complex matters that are typical of our practice.

Outside the office walls, we encourage our Summer Associates to explore the great city of New York. We put students in touch with several sources that can assist them in finding housing for the summer, and sponsor a number of events that help them get to know their colleagues and the city. These events include a Welcome Dinner, theater parties, all-clerk lunches, wine tastings, partner dinners, Yankees games and an all-Summer Associate retreat.
