Scholarship Opportunities

Through the LSAT Preparation Diversity Scholarship and the Law Preview Scholarship, Bracewell assists with increasing the pool of racially and ethnically diverse legal candidates. Moreover, by playing an active role in an initiative that seeks to increase this pool, Bracewell also increases its visibility among candidates at an early stage in their legal careers, thereby strengthening its recruiting efforts.
LSAT Preparation Diversity Scholarship
The LSAT Preparation Diversity Scholarship targets college juniors and seniors who are interested in attending law school. The scholarship provides funding for students to take the LSAT Preparation course given by the Princeton Review. Bracewell & Giuliani Law Preview Scholarship
Bracewell has partnered with Law Preview to provide the Bracewell & Giuliani Law Preview Scholarship. This partnership provides scholarships to racially and ethnically candidates who have been accepted into law school at the University of Houston Law Center. Law Preview is the nation’s largest law school prep course for incoming law students and teaches students what to expect and how to succeed in law school.
Recruiting
Bracewell continues to reach out the brightest legal talent by participating in numerous job fairs. The firm actively recruits talent from 20 law schools across the country as well as at the Sunbelt Minority Job Fair in Dallas, Texas and Southeastern Minority Job Fair in Atlanta, Georgia.
Women's Initiatives
At Bracewell, women are involved in every facet of the firm's leadership, serving as Section Heads, Committee Chairs and members of the Management Committee. To support women in their legal careers and management activities, the firm has instituted the Women in the Law Recruiting Committee and the Women Lawyers Program. The latter targets female partners and provides career development coaching.
Recently, the firm extended maternity leave from 12 weeks to 18 weeks in an effort to allow new mothers adequate time to spend with their families.
The firm has also implemented a path to partnership that allows for flexible work hours while supporting the professional activities needed for attaining partnership. This program has been effective at retaining female lawyers and helping balance the responsibilities of family, legal practice, partnership, and top management positions within the firm.
