Global Distressed Debt Investor Forum
Mon, 09/17/2007 - Wed, 09/19/2007
New York
With increased liquidity in the market, distressed investors have seen a great deal of competition in the space. Hedge funds and private equity funds have had an increased role in this area, along with the traditional investment banks. This conference will create a dialogue to pinpoint the investment opportunities available, the emerging asset sectors, and the likely risks and returns that will present themselves to help integrate the right investments into one’s portfolio.
Marcy Kurtz and Evan Flaschen will speak on "2019 - To Disclose Or Not To Disclose - That Is The Question."
Program Description
The session will address the following questions:
- Why do we have the rule?
- What is a "Committee?"
- What SHOULD the bankruptcy court do?
Evan Flaschen, Marcy Kurtz, Kurt Mayr and Mark Palmer will lead a workshop on "The Intersection of Securities Laws and Distress Debt Trading."
Program Description
Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run (to your lawyer).
Discussion will include:
- Bankruptcy provisions and the reorganization process
- An update on key recent decisions
- An interpretation on how such decisions have updated the fund community
