Guidance for Corporate Counsel: Lessons and Signposts from the DOJ and SEC in Recent FCPA Cases

8:00 - 8:30 am (EDT) Registration and Breakfast
8:30 - 9:30 am (EDT) Program

In today's global business environment, compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) has assumed critical importance for U.S. corporations. Since 2007, Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions alleging FCPA violations have increased significantly. These enforcement actions reflect an invigorated DOJ and SEC in rigorous pursuit of FCPA violations involving U.S. companies. During this same time, significant appellate and district court opinions on a wide range of FCPA-related matters have been issued providing important guidance to corporations, individuals and prosecutors.

Join Jonathan Halpern from Bracewell & Giuliani and Steve Fishner from KPMG Forensic for a complimentary breakfast seminar, with CLE credit, to learn about these new developments, and FCPA principles involving both the statute's anti-bribery provisions (DOJ) and obligations to maintain accurate books and records (SEC). This program will be targeted to in-house counsel. We welcome your participation in this breakfast seminar.
