Law Students
At Bracewell & Giuliani, the seeds of future success are sown today. We seek out the highest-qualified law students, those with outstanding academic records, extraordinary work habits and a desire to provide the best legal advice possible. In turn, we provide an environment that supports and encourages the continuing legal education and professional development of our new associates. The result: Attorneys who feel challenged and appreciated, a firm in which objectives are clearly identified and achieved, and clients who know that their satisfaction is our highest priority.
We provide extensive legal and practical training for our new lawyers. Our lean staffing model and mentoring programs not only provide early opportunities for direct client contact, they enable the type of professional excellence for which our associates have become known. We encourage collegiality and teamwork, and provide opportunities for leadership and to support the leadership of others.
Diversity is a key component of our vibrant, collaborative culture. We have been recognized by numerous national publications, as well as prominent business and legal organizations, for our hiring practices and support for the careers of minority and women attorneys. Consistent with our firmwide commitment to minority hiring, we participate in law school minority job fairs and local and national bar association minority clerkship programs. Recognizing that our attorneys play a key role in their local communities, we encourage our new associates to participate in professional, community, cultural and civic activities.
Associate Selection
Most of our new associates are drawn from our summer program. In addition to providing new attorneys with real-world legal experience, it enables us to observe Summer Associates in action. Factors such as maturity, poise and communication skills play a role in our hiring decisions, as well as a candidate’s undergraduate and law school records, academic achievements, extra-curricular activities and peer-group recognition. We seek lawyers with sound judgment, a capacity for compassion, personal integrity, a willingness to commit, an honest humility and a sense of humor.
Equal Opportunity
Bracewell & Giuliani provides equal opportunity for employment to all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status or disability.
