For the second year in a row, Bracewell & Giuliani was a gold sponsor for the George Crawford Black Bar Association Dinner, "In Pursuit of Excellence, Enhancing Our Legacy," held on April 23, 2010 in Hartford, Connecticut. The dinner honored Dr. Pamela Trotman Reid, President of Saint Joseph College and Laurie N. Robinson, Esq., Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of CBS Corporation and Founder and CEO of Corporate Counsel Women of Color. At the dinner, the association awarded scholarships to local law students, including the George W. Crawford Priscilla Green Scholarship, given to a student who presents a record of leadership.
For over thirty years, the association has supported and promoted African American attorneys practicing in Connecticut. They have also strive to increase diversity among judges, attorneys and other professionals in leadership positions in Connecticut. The annual gala is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Crawford members and scholarship recipients, as well as to look to the future by supporting those who show promise in the legal profession.
Bracewell attorney Daynor Carman attended the event. "I feel very privileged to work with such a wonderful organization and to represent Bracewell in the Hartford legal community," Carman said. "I had the opportunity to speak with one of the scholarship recipients who expressed gratitude for the financial and moral support from Crawford and its members, which is a rewarding reminder of the great benefit the group has on the community."
