Bracewell & Giuliani Honored to Sponsor Law School's 35th Annual Cultural Celebration

For over 10 years, the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students’ Association has hosted distinguished guests including Texas legislators, judges, and prominent community leaders to celebrate the past year’s accomplishments and prepare themselves to meet new challenges and set additional goals to advance Hispanic/Latino issues within the law school and in Texas. In attendance at this event were attorneys and UT alumni from all over the state, as well as current law students and various student leaders from Texas universities.

Bracewell & Giuliani was honored to be a gold sponsor at The University of Texas School of Law Chicano/Hispanic Law Students’ Association the 35th Annual Cultural Celebration and Awards Banquet. This year, the keynote speaker was the Judge Xavier Rodriguez, United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas and UT Law alumnus. At the celebration, CHLSA honored the following individuals with the CHLSA Spirit Awards:

Spirit of CHLSA: Mr. Paul Ruiz, formerly of Clark, Thomas & Winters; currently Asst. Director of the Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center at Texas Tech University

Spirit of Leadership: Mr. and Mrs. Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long, Philanthropists; Benefactors to the Law School

Spirit of Education: Dr. Francisco Cigarroa, Chancellor of the University of Texas System

Spirit of Community: Rep. Elliott Naishtat, Texas House of Representatives, District 49

Spirit of Culture: Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez, Associate Professor, UT School of Journalism; Director, U.S. Latino & Latina World War II Oral Advocacy Project
