Bracewell Partner Kelly Frels and his wife Carmela were honored on April 8, 2010 at a gala to raise scholarship money for college students who attended the Houston Junior Forum's Community House Preschool. Mr. and Mrs. Frels were recognized for their contributions to the college scholarship fund, which was started in the 1970s.

The Community House Preschool was founded in the early 1950s to help prepare children of limited English proficiency for elementary school. Among its founders were Elizabeth and Muriel Bracewell, presidents of the Houston Junior Forum, and wives of the firm's Searcy and Fentress Bracewell.
