Houston Corporate Associate Todd Amdor was honored at the PFLAG/HATCH Youth Scholarship Foundation (PHYSF) Spring Fling on May 13, 2010 due to his service in Houston's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) community. Mr. Amdor is the first person to be honored at this event. He became involved with the PHYSF in 2002 when he was awarded a scholarship by the organization, which has awarded nearly $1 million in scholarships since its inception in 1999. Mr. Amdor continued his service to the Houston community as a director and vice chairman for PHYSF and co-chair of the Houston Pride Festival.

Today, Mr. Amdor serves as an officer and director of The Hollyfield Foundation, which fosters and protects individual rights and freedoms by providing funding to organizations that work to prevent discrimination, and educate and secure equal rights for sexual minorities. He has also periodically provided his support as a speaker and fundraiser to Houston Black Tie Dinner, Inc., whose mission is to unite the men and women of the Greater Houston GLBT community as they fight HIV and AIDS, prejudice and discrimination; and to OutLaw, the University of Houston Law Center's GLBT student group.

In addition to his many contributions to the GLBT community, Mr. Amdor has provided pro bono legal services to entities serving Houston's GLBT community for more than five years. His clients have included PHYSF, The Hollyfield Foundation and AIDS Foundation Houston.

In May 2010, Out Smart Magazine published a feature article on Mr. Amdor titled "Recognizing Leadership." To read the article, please click here.
