On December 19, 2009, Bracewell associate Amy Gentry spoke on a career panel for the Management Leadership for Tomorrow – Houston (MLTH) Energy Policy Workshop. The event gave about 100 high-performing high school students the chance to listen to and interact with energy industry experts from all professions. Ms. Gentry was one of eight panelists on the career panel discussing professional roles within the energy industry and the necessary educational processes to reach those roles. Ms. Gentry and her peers had breakfast with the students, advising them on different career paths and helping them develop their own career plans.
Since 2005, MLTH has helped develop leadership talent among the Houston’s minority youth population and positioning these young leaders for civic engagement and career opportunities. Through its Houston Fellows Program, MLTH identifies the best and brightest minority high school seniors and makes their potential a reality. The year-long Houston Fellows experience develops the intangible leadership skills not taught in classrooms and immerses participants in Houston’s business and civic communities through a world class Leadership Summit and follow-on workshops and industry immersions.
In her work with Bracewell, Ms. Gentry represents corporate clients in acquisitions and mergers, buy-sell agreements and the formation and maintenance of business entities. She provides legal counsel and advises private and public business clients on day-to-day corporate contracts and transactions, securities, partnership issues, and limited liability company matters.
